The Share for the Development in Vietnam project (or Share4VnDev for short) is a non-profit project that aims to share academic information, research, and data in the development field; create a bridge to connect scholars, development activists and researchers to exchange information to contribute to promoting sustainable development in Vietnam, building an academic environment, professional and intelligent practice. Transparency and efficiency in the field of Development, towards helping Vietnam achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The main activities of the Share4VNDev project include:
(1) Review, introduce Books in the field of Development, translation and publish Books in the field of development;
(2) Daily update of development, socio-economic-political news related to development in Vietnam and global trends; lessons of success and failure from development stories in countries around the world;
(3) Introduce, share journals, research articles; collecting data and expert opinions for research and practice activities in the field of development.
In addition, Share4VNDev will also share development opportunities in the field of development, short-term and long-term training courses, advanced Master and Ph.D. courses for passionate young people. Within the framework of its activities, Share4VnDev uses the United Nations organization’s Development definition: Development is an effort to improve all aspects of the physical and spiritual life of the people. Sustainable development seeks balanced development among three main pillars: economic, social, and environmental: promoting prosperity and economic opportunities; improve social welfare; at the same time, ensure environmental and ecosystem protection. This is considered the best way to achieve the goal of improving the lives of people in the world
In this context, in September 2015, 193 UN member states adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the World Summit, including 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ) as a roadmap to end poverty, combat climate change, ensure gender equality, and promote peace and justice. Vietnam is committed to the implementation of these 17 goals, towards inclusive, equitable and sustainable development, and has been included in the National Agenda with specific implementation and monitoring roadmaps.
In the context that Vietnam has now joined the group of lower-middle-income countries (2011), foreign investment to support development programs is increasingly limited, Vietnam. , with the goal of becoming an industrial country by 2020, increasingly facing development issues such as urbanization, poverty, gender inequality, climate change, conflict, etc. Meanwhile, traditional approaches to address development issues in Vietnam are short-term, lack professionalism and sustainability; The development work team is not fully equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills; Access to resources about Vietnam and the world is limited; Local construction databases according to development domains are incomplete.
Sharing these concerns, Share4VNDev was born in the hope of helping to address these vulnerabilities, providing reliable resources and sharing a common forum for researchers, developers, and Young people are passionate about social activities, community, and development. Share4VnDev will focus on resources and communication related to the Sustainable Development Goals including economic growth, governance, education, poverty, gender equality, climate change, clean energy. , globalization, sanitation, and clean water.
